Parent Helpers
We acknowledge the invaluable contribution parents can make to their child’s education at pre-school. Although we do not have a specific parent helper rota, we welcome parents to help at pre-school if they wish. Not only does this help staff in a practical way, it allows a familiarity with pre-school and with the facilities, so that pre-school becomes a shared experience, encouraging a sense of belonging and a community atmosphere. To ensure your child is well protected, regular parent helpers are CRB checked. Those parent helpers who have not been CRB checked are not permitted to assist with toileting and are never left unattended with the children.
If there are any areas of skill and experience that you could share with the children, please let us know. We love new ideas and the sharing of expertise. We have had parents come in to help with junk modeling, parents have given talks on diving and being a vet.
We love being a community based pre-school and hold you, our families at the centre of everything we do. As such we ensure that we organise dates throughout the year as celebration days for us all to join together. Examples have been stay and play sessions, Christmas show and party, Sports Day, Teddy Bears Picnic, Forest School Open Day, Graduation Show, Scarecrow making and Butterfly House trip. We try to make sure that we have one event each half term.
